Position Overview

The Elected Member of Energy is vital to Zettahash DAO's success, ensuring its competitiveness and financial stability in the dynamic energy landscape. This position aligns Zettahash's energy strategies with broader sustainability initiatives and economic objectives. The EM achieves this by effectively managing the energy portfolio, optimizing operations and energy usage, reducing costs, and generating revenue through various energy markets, all in alignment with ZH DAO's overall mining objectives.

Role and Responsibilities

Mining Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive short- and long-term mining strategies to guide the direction and growth of operations, aligning with the company's overall objectives. Assess market conditions to make informed decisions and adapt to changing dynamics.
  • Analyze mining profitability to identify opportunities for improving financial performance. Select appropriate mining hardware and software to optimize mining efficiency and streamline operations.
  • Optimize mining processes to reduce operational costs and aim to maximize mining revenue, benefiting the DAO community and ensuring sustainable growth.

Bitcoin Mining and Data Centers Operations Oversight

  • Ensure the efficient operation of the mining facilities, including hardware maintenance and monitoring mining performance.
  • Oversee and collaborate with the mining and data center operations team to execute operational strategies, maintain infrastructure, ensure continuous uptime, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and implement capacity planning.
  • Implement security measures, oversee backups, and ensure safety and disaster recovery plans are in place.

Mining Financial Management and Market Analysis

  • Oversee the financial health of Bitcoin mining and data center operations, including capital allocation, revenue generation, and profitability. Manage budgets and financial planning for procuring mining equipment and managing electricity costs.
  • Monitor market trends and developments in the cryptocurrency and data center industries to inform strategic decisions. Analyze the profitability of Bitcoin mining operations to identify opportunities for financial improvement and sustainability.
  • Comprehend market analysis and capitalize on new opportunities in the Bitcoin mining and data center markets to enhance the organization's growth and competitive edge.

Risk Management and Compliance for Bitcoin Mining Operations

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements applicable to Bitcoin mining operations, including environmental regulations, data security, and financial reporting standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that could impact the DAO’s operations, reputation, or financial stability, focusing on managing risks related to Bitcoin price volatility, regulatory changes, and cybersecurity threats.
  • Implement robust risk management strategies to protect the operation from potential threats and ensure long-term sustainability.

Energy Management and Sustainability

  • Together with EM of Energy, develop strategies to optimize energy consumption and explore renewable energy options to reduce costs and environmental impact.
  • Ensure the sustainability and environmental responsibility of the mining operations by adopting eco-friendly practices and technologies.

Energy and Hosting Agreements Management

  • Negotiate contracts for energy supply in collaboration with the EM of Energy, focusing on favorable pricing and terms.
  • Identify energy providers, manage energy consumption, explore renewable energy options, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiate and manage agreements with hosting providers for infrastructure needs, including identifying suitable providers and negotiating pricing and service level agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements applicable to Bitcoin mining operations, including environmental regulations, data security, and financial reporting standards.

Supply Chain and Vendor Relations

  • Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure a reliable supply of mining hardware and other necessary materials for Bitcoin mining operations. Ensure vendors deliver services and products as agreed upon and promptly resolve disputes.
  • Negotiate contracts for energy supply in collaboration with the EM of Energy, focusing on favorable pricing and terms.
  • Evaluate vendor performance to maintain high standards of quality and reliability in the supply chain.

DAO Financial and Treasury Management

  • Collaborate with the EM of Community to oversee the proposal submission and review process in alignment with Zettahash DAO's objectives and collective decision-making.
  • Maintain Zettahash DAO's decentralization and safeguard its constitution to ensure integrity and autonomy. Protect it against internal and external risks to preserve its foundational principles and operational framework.
  • Monitor the consensus mechanism of the blockchain network to ensure its proper functioning. Identify and resolve consensus-related issues, optimizing network performance for stable and secure operations.

Managing Strategic Relationships and Investor Relations

  • Maintain solid relationships with key strategic partners, investors, industry peers, legacy institutions, and government entities is crucial for ongoing collaboration, support, and expansion.
  • Build relationships with investors to secure funding for growth and development, creating access to additional capital.
  • Enhance the company's market standing by fostering strong industry and investor relationships, boosting credibility and reputation.
  • Open new business opportunities and expand the network by leveraging these relationships, increasing possibilities and connections.
  • Gain insights and mentorship from investors and industry partners to navigate challenges and receive strategic guidance.

DAO Governance and Proposal Management

  • Maintain Zettahash DAO's decentralization and safeguard its constitution to ensure integrity and autonomy. Protect it against internal and external risks to preserve its foundational principles and operational framework.
  • Review proposals submission and review process, ensuring that proposals align with DAO objectives and implementing approved proposals.
  • Collaborate with the EM of Community to oversee the proposal submission and review process in alignment with Zettahash DAO's objectives and collective decision-making.
  • Safeguard the DAO constitution against internal and external risks to preserve its foundational principles and operational framework.
  • Monitor the consensus mechanism of the blockchain network to ensure its proper functioning. Identify and resolve consensus-related issues, optimizing network performance for stable and secure operations.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Provide strong leadership and organizational support by setting a positive tone and culture and collaborating with Elected Members to achieve objectives and enhance performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with the community and internal teams to resolve all DAO-related matters or challenges.

Public Relations and Community Engagement

  • Raise public awareness of the company through private and public channels to enhance its visibility and reputation.
  • Work with the EM of Communications and, where necessary, external marketing teams to ensure cohesive communication strategies and practical community engagement efforts.
  • Engage with the community to foster strong relationships and collaborate on resolving DAO-related matters.
